What's actually guiding your choices
A value is a core belief that shapes the choices you make. One person might put family above everything, while someone else builds their life around freedom. What you value is deeply personal, rooted in your own sense of what's right and wrong.
Where your values come from
Most of us never sat down and chose our values on purpose. We picked them up along the way, from family, culture, the people we spent the most time around.
That's usually where the disconnect starts. You might name freedom as a value, but if stability once felt like survival growing up, part of you may still be operating from that mindset.
Values shift as we grow, but the real issue isn't that they evolve. It's when your life doesn't evolve with them.
