Growing What You Plant
Every thought you think is a seed. Repeat it enough, water it with attention, and it takes root. That’s true whether the thought is building you up or tearing you down. The mind doesn’t discriminate between what’s helpful and what’s harmful, it just grows what gets fed.
Growth doesn’t respond well to pressure. The things we’re trying hardest to force along are often the ones that struggle the most, while the things we approach gently, with patience instead of urgency, tend to take root on their own timeline.
It’s easy to mistake effort for progress. More watering, more checking, more control. But sometimes what looks like neglect is actually just space, and what looks like overattention is actually smothering.
This applies beyond anything literal. Every thought you repeat to yourself is something you’re planting. The way you speak to yourself, whether with frustration or with patience, shapes what actually grows.
